This Doc Sweeney Snare drum is a single ply, steam bent ply of oak wood. Differing from most other steam bent drums, all reinforcement rings in the Pure series are not glued in, but rather carved in as part of the shell. Oak has a punchy quality that works really well for snare drums. This drum has a naturally loud attack with plenty of warmth to back it up.
